eAddicted

What I difference a good night’s sleep makes. Last night, no weird dreams, no waking up in the middle of the night, no trying to fall asleep again at 4:00AM. This morning, acksee is in a much better mood even though it’s gloomy and cloudy outside.

The tube that I bought from eBay finally arrived yesterday and I spent a couple of hours last night listening to my tube headphone amp. I was all excited and everything because it is a sweet sounding tube or at least sweet sounding to me in my delusional state of anticipation. Maybe that’s the feeling of being a little closer to finding musical nirvana.

I don’t have an addictive personality but I think I could get addicted to this eBay thing*. I was leery before of buying from eBay what with stories of scammers, stuff being lost or damaged in shipment, taxes and duty costing more than the item itself. But my tube arrived intact and well packaged and I wasn’t even dinged with tax or duty. I think if you’re careful and patient you can definitely find good deals on eBay. And it’s not just the sake of finding a bargain but the thrill of winning and losing bids. Just keep an eye on that credit card.

I still have two weeks to go before the end of another spending freeze and I have been trying very hard not to buy anything. I think this month’s credit card bill is going to be oh-so-sweet, only gas and a few small purchases. Now that summer is kinda half over and I still haven’t planned a summer vacation I have a few choices. I can spend my summer vacation funds on a summer vacation or I can buy more audio equipment or I can buy a kayak which I have been thinking about on and off since last year’s kayak trip. But I’m like the little kid at the candy store who only has a dime to buy one piece of candy and then starts crying because he wants to buy it all. Oh well, I still have a little time to think about it.

Long weekend is coming up and of course I have no plans. I think a lot of people are heading out of town. At least Friday is payday. Oh goody, it’s lunchtime again.

*Um yeah, so I’ve been on eBay all morning looking for tubes.
