watch more TV

Monday, Apr. 19, 2004 - 11:20 a.m.

It’s funny how things work out. My dilemma Friday was whether to go running after work or go to FutureShop to buy Kill Bill Volume 1. It was supposed to rain all weekend so I should have gone running on Friday. But of course lazy-ass me reasoned that I had a crappy week so Friday after work I said screw the running and went to Futureshop. Along with Kill Bill Volume 1, I also bought For A Few Dollars More which completes my Sergio Leone spaghetti western (Man With No Name) trilogy. Kill Bill Volume 1 kicks-ass. Yes I know I am so out of it but better late than never.

Yeah so Friday night I just couch-potatoed and watched both movies. The weatherman was right and it was pissing rain Friday night and Saturday. I peeked my head outside around 4:30PM and lucky me the sky was clearing up and it was warm. So I threw on some shorts and a long-sleeve T-shirt and went for a run. My second run was much better than my first run. I did 2-miles again but this time I didn’t walk and I’m not even sore today. I think I’m slowly getting back into the running routine. I got my Kill Bill and I got to run. I would say that was a good weekend. Man of simple pleasures.

Another bonus this weekend. I found a $50 gift card for SportCheck/Coast Mountain Sports that I got for Christmas. It dawned on me that they carry running shoes and for sure they should carry New Balance. So that’s $50 off my 855s. I am so getting back into the running routine.

Last week there was a small get-together at perfect-beautiful people’s house. They were all watching some make-over/match-making show where some chick and some dude were kissing even though they had bandages all over their faces from plastic surgery. Acksee was nice and polite and sat quietly through the show even though I was thinking, “why do you people watch this crap?” Someone actually made the dumb-ass comment that I need to watch more TV, specifically more “reality” TV, because “chicks love watching that stuff.” Oh yeah, I should dumb myself down by watching trash TV so I can get me some. Oh if only life were so easy. I take pride in not watching a lot of TV because I have better things to do with my time. It’s the “reality” TV addicts who should watch LESS TV and get their heads out of their asses. Watch more TV. Pshhhhhhhh.
