dead than alive

It's past the middle of the month so my spending freeze is over and I can start buying crap again. So I went a little nuts the past few days. On Sunday I went to IKEA and bought a CD shelf. My CDs have been scattered all over the floor with strategically placed clear spots so that I can still walk around the room. I didn't think I had that many CDs but managed to fill most of the shelf. I guess I should take it easy on Amazon.ca but I still have about 90 CDs on my wish list. If I stick to my quota of 2 CDs a month I can finish the list by November 2007.

Yesterday I placed an order for my Shure E2C earphones which are supposed to be delivered today. Overnight couriers rock. Chicks with slight French accents rock (the Shure distributor for Canada is in Quebec). I also ordered about $250 in electronic parts for my next electronic project which is yet another headphone amp. I still need to order this hi-tech looking aluminium case and hopefully there will be no more purchases for this amp. CDs, earphones, headphone amp, see the connection?

I need a new digital multimeter because the cheapy one I bought myself for Christmas is, well cheapy. Apparently it doesn't measure milliamps and capacitance and me needs to be measuring those things. Unfortunately digital multimeters that measure those things are opposite of cheapy.

I so need to go running and my running shoes for the past two seasons have seen their last run. Which means I need to buy new running shoes. I have been pretty happy with the New Balance 853 so I'll probably end up getting the newer model 855. And it's going to painful (not just financially) because I haven't gone running since October. Not bad though considering I only gained a couple pounds sitting on my ass all winter.

Damn insurance woman wants to make an appointment with me to try to sell me more insurance. All these damn people just want to take away my hard-earned money. No one ever wants to give me money. Here acksee, here's $1000 just because you're a nice person. I don't need more insurance. I'm worth more dead than alive.

Saturday SG and me went to the restaurant Jerusalem for some Middle-Eastern buffet. We got the waitress that he went ga-ga over last time. She has a cute face and a really nice smile. A little personality goes a long way even though she is a bit bottom heavy. I think SG was trying to flirt with her. It seems that as we get older we place less emphasis on looks and more on personality. Or maybe we are just getting more desperate.
