yippee ki yay

Monday, Mar. 08, 2004 - 4:56 p.m.

Friday I had curry chicken rice for lunch. Friday night I had some very excellent Indian food at Bombay Bhel up in Thornhill; curry again. Saturday night I had chili chicken for dinner, not curry but still spicy. So why do I have a craving for curry again today? I only had a crummy 6" cold cut at Subway for lunch.

Friday night was my first time holding a baby. I think at first we were both a bit tense because we both had our fists clenched in a death grip. He was probably all like who the hell is this, it don't feel/smell like mom or dad. And I was all like okay this is a little, pint-sized, mini human being; please don't squirm or I'm gonna drop ya. After a couple minutes we both relaxed a bit and he actually sat in my arms without squirming or crying which gave his parents a moment to eat. Mmmmm, Indian food.

Lately I've been into watching Westerns. I went to Futureshop after work on Friday to try to buy a few of those old Clint Eastwood classics like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly or A Fistful of Dollars. I think it started late one night a couple weeks ago when I started watching High Plains Drifter. I remember watching Pale Rider back in high school and thinking Clint was such a stud because the character played by Sydney Penny had a big crush on him. And somebody gave me the Unforgiven DVD for my birthday one year, even though I wasn't a big Westerns fan back then. Of course you can't forget The Quick and the Dead with Sharon Stone as a hot but deadly gunslinger, although I forget if she flashed her private parts in that one. Then there's Young Guns and Young Guns II with the brat pack of Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Philips, Charlie Sheen (only in I), and Christian Slater (only in II). I've seen Kevin Costner's Dances with Wolves numerous times but only as two-part TV movies, which probably sucked ass compared to watching it on the big screen, without commercials. The list goes on: Wild Wild West, Maverick, Blazing Saddles, The Three Amigos, City Slickers, Old Yeller, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, Shanghai Noon, etc. Although, come to think of it, as a child I never owned a cowboy hat or kiddy cowboy boots. I don't recall playing cowboys and Indians either. Maybe it had something to do with us being Chinese and all. I did go on a few pony rides, both the live ones and the quarter-driven ones. But those don't really count do they? I think in another time and place I would like to be a cowboy.

Now if they made a movie about zombies AND cowboys. Daaaaammmnnn!
