Wednesday, Mar. 03, 2004 - 8:17 p.m.

Okay I don't know whether to laugh or cry. So I was complaining two weeks ago that one of my electronic parts shipments was taking a long time. I finally got it today and can somebody say EXCESSIVE packaging? It went something like this.

I called the Madre at about 11:30AM to see if my package came yet. No, I haven't been calling the Madre daily for two weeks to see if my package came in. I was tracking it this morning on the UPS site. So the Madre said yes and by the way what the heck did you order because the box is the size of an apple crate. Okay whatever; the Madre has been known to exaggerate a little. When I got home and saw the box it was like holyshit it is the size of an apple crate. The thing is, the electronic parts that I ordered would all fit into an Altoids tin. When I opened this gi-normous box, there was a whole lot of stuffing and about 15 DVD-case-sized boxes. I was like whattheheck? I shit you not, one bean sprout sized part in each of these boxes. But hey, it's not like I'm complaining. I mean these people take their packaging seriously and I can be sure that my electronic parts were as safe as safe could be. UPS dude could have tossed the crate at my front door without stopping the truck and my parts would still be okay. Yeah, so I got excited over some packaging. That's about as exciting as my life gets these days. I still have 14 boxes to open. Woohoo.
