small squeezeWednesday, Sept. 03, 2003 - 5:16 p.m.Dammit-all-to-hell. I had a nice little entry going. Then there was a bustle of activity. Somehow I closed Word without saving. I thought Word was supposed to backup the file you’re working on. Guess not. I think it went something like this: Last night I went running after work. I blew past 2 chicks who were also running. They were decked out in their fancy tights and dry fit shirts and yellow running shoes and Evian bottle in hand. I thought I was pretty cool until I noticed they were women, like older women, like 10 years older. After that I didn’t feel like such a tough guy. But I applaud anyone who goes out running. It’s not about how fast you run or how far you run or the brands you wear. It’s about the effort you put into it. I’m such a geek. By now you must know that I’ve been hankering for a kayak. If not, well I SO want a kayak. I’ve been studying the Boating Safety handbook even though I don’t need a Boat Operator Proficiency Card (that’s what the gub-ment calls it) for a kayak, only for motorized water vehicles (that be them power boots). I’ve been looking up places to buy nautical charts and studying how to read them. I’ve been studying knots. Yes knots, like the tie your shoelace knots, like the knots you learn in boy-scouts. Well I gotta learn how to securely tie the kayak to the car. Um, no I don’t have a kayak yet. Yeah, that’s about all I managed to squeeze out today.
