damn cursed nap

So yesterday with the generator at the fish tank low on fuel, the power came back on around noon, just when we were ready to leave. El presidente had gone out earlier in his Jag searching for an open gas station that had diesel. He managed to lug back 10 gallons of diesel, in his Jag. The fish tank friends and me decided to go out for lunch. Metro Square had full power restored so we went for noodles. After lunch we were told that there would be rotating blackouts roughly every four hours, so we went home anyway.

I tried to deposit my paycheck and get some cash but the bank machines at my regular branch were closed. I tried a few others but they were either closed or had long-ass lineups. Not being in desperate need of cash, I went home. I did manage to buy my lottery tickets. Our power was fully restored but seeing as we were supposed to conserve water and electricity there wasn’t too much to do. At around 3:00PM I was tired and bored and the basement was cool and comfy so I gave in and took a little nap, a little 4-hour nap.

We went out for dinner at the nearby Shanghai restaurant since the madre didn’t feel like cooking. After dinner, I installed the game that KR lent me and played that most of the night, actually the whole night. And uh the morning. The sis called the hot air balloon place and got a message recorded Thursday night saying that flights were cancelled because they couldn’t fill their propane tanks. SG came over around 11:30PM to catch up on some TV (he has no cable) and left around 1:00AM. The sis called back at 4:30AM and still no change. I continued playing the game till 7:00AM. I wasn’t tired because of the little 4-hour nap. I guess that’s not conserving electricity.

Since there’s no AC I’ve been sleeping with the windows open. 10:30AM and it’s already hot and for some reason the damn neighbors like to talk in their backyard, really loud, at 10:30AM on Saturday mornings. I had to take a big pee so I got up anyway. Showered, had my cup of tea, up and about but I know this afternoon, if I have nothing to do, I’m going to be all tired and cranky and sleepy. And the damn nap-cycle is going start all over again. I’ll probably be all messed up Monday morning.
